Meet Dr. Kari

“I am a very caring, gentle, kind person with a great passion for dentistry. I value the dental profession and hold my clinical standards high. Clinical excellence, ethics, and integrity are the core values of my practice. I truly enjoy being a dentist, as I promote well-being in the community. The dental profession has allowed me to meet many people in the journey of my life, and has enabled me to enhance beautiful smiles, as well as promote confidence, well-being, and happiness in the lives of others. Working with many people every day affects my life in a very positive way. I learn continously from people I meet and develop lasting relationships. I like to promote healthy mouths and great smiles, changing lives one smile at a time.” — Dr. Kari

Dr. Kari hails from a vibrant, busy, metropolitan city in southern India called Chennai. She graduated from Saveetha Dental College and was affiliated with Dr. MGR Medical University where she also completed a one-year residency. Dr. Kari acquired a unique blend of experiences in India: she attended many oral cancer research camps in the southern district and carrying out extensive research in endemic fluorosis in Tamil Nadu. She also treated under-served populations and promoted dental education there.

Dr. Kari immigrated to the U.S. and underwent the advanced training program at New York University College of Dentistry, to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors in 2011. She is fluent in English and Tamil.

Since completing her formal dental training, Dr. Kari has taken extensive continuing education courses to help her stay at the forefront of advancing dental technology. Most recently, she has attended numerous endodontic, cosmetic, and restorative courses, as well as pediatric dental courses. She is also a certified Invisalign® provider.

Dr. Kari has been married for 18 years to Kari, a mechanical engineer working for Adient. They have a daughter named Poongi—a brilliant girl. Their second daughter Kayal (2006-2008) was lost to Krabbe leukodystrophy. Much of Dr. Kari’s community support goes to organizations that search for a cure. Dr. Kari was recently blessed with an adorable son. The family also has a German Shepherd puppy named Subramani who has proven to be a great companion to the children.

When she is not working, Dr. Kari enjoys spending her free time reading dental journals and being with her family. She has a great passion for cooking and gardening as well.
